We only had one night there as G flew out on Saturday and we had to do the sites of Athens.
So we arrived to Mykonos, all reeling from our 3 hour ferry ride on the Flying Cat ferry. I was so bumpy all we could do was sleep to avoid sea sickness. We got a ride to our hotel and Helen was there waiting for us. Now we be 4.
We wasted no time getting ATV's to go to the beach that Kevin and I had eaten the best calamari of our lives at, Kalo Livado. We found the beach no problem and after a short sunbathe (and swim for me) we sit down to lunch at Sol y Mar restaurant and dig into Greek Salads and Calamari. It was not quite as good as I remember but still really delicious.
That night its out to find the night life. Mykonos is known for being the "Gay Island" so we of course head straight to Ramrod nightclub where we proceed to make total fools of ourselves with our cameras for an hour.
After realizing how much we are going to spend if we keep having drinks at bars, we head to the kiosk shop and get a small bottle of rum and a bottle of coke and sit in a back alley drinking out of plastic bags. We decide we are ghetto fabulous. Then straight to another club to dance for 2 hours. Girls only, thank you gentlemen. It was a fantastic good time and I have not danced that much since college.
The next day we grabbed some food at another wonderful bakery we found and went to Paradise Beach to lounge for the day. It was lovely. G even tried snorkling and for someone with a phobia of fish, I was so freakin proud of her.
Then to pack up our stuff and go to our (thankfully very large and not bumpy) ferry to Athens.
Damn...that really was fast.
